The Greater Lee’s Summit Health Care Foundation plans to award up to
three scholarships in the amount up to $5,000 to support academic studies leading to a career in a
medical or health care discipline. These scholarships will support studies in the
following areas: |

Medicine |
|
Nursing |
|
Pharmacy |
|
Physical
Therapy |
|
Radiology Technology and so on. |
| To
be eligible for these scholarship awards, the applicant must meet the
following criteria: |
| 1) |
The person must either live in Lee’s Summit currently, or have graduated
from an area high school, including Blue Springs High School, if the
student’s residence was Lee’s Summit at the time of graduation. |

| 2) |
The applicant must have completed at least one year of studies in their
chosen health care field of study. For example, an applicant must
have completed at least one year of nursing school. A medical student
must have completed his or her undergraduate degree and be accepted to a
medical school to be eligible. |

| 3) |
The applicant must have at least a 3.0 grade point average on a 4.0
scale. |
|
|
|
Newly issued time frame for getting applications and supporting
documentation in for consideration is as follows:
JANUARY 1 - MARCH 1ST IS THE SCHOLARSHIP CYCLE.
*EVERYTHING IS DUE 3/1.
Applications and all required attachments must be submitted (postmarked)
no later than March 1. Awards will be announced at a
date approximately one month after the submission deadline. Funds will
be sent directly to the educational institution prior to the Fall term. |
